The State of Pennsylvania Will Soon Have Evolution Gaming

Evolution Gaming (EG), a renowned provider of live casino software and systems, will soon have its products available to operators licensed in the state of Pennsylvania in the United States. This is because the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) granted the company a conditional Interactive Gaming Manufacturer license. This allowed the company to begin operating in this capacity.

It was announced in a press release the week before last, and it represents an important milestone in Evolution Gaming’s growth into regulated markets in the United States as the company continues to develop its footprint in those regions. It is the very first step that must be taken in order for the provider to be allowed to construct a live casino studio in the state.

First in New Jersey and Pennsylvania

The new conditional Interactive Gaming Manufacturer license held by Evolution Gaming in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is the very first of its kind to be granted to a live service provider. In 2017, Pennsylvania became the first state to legalize online gambling in an effort to close a significant budget gap. The state’s first regulated internet casinos opened for business in the middle of July of that same year. In Pennsylvania, now that all of the bureaucratic hurdles have been swept away, the next major step for Evolution Gaming will be to build a live casino studio, for which there have been reports that planning has already begun.

Before expanding its operations into Pennsylvania, the corporation had already established a foothold in the neighboring state of New Jersey, which is one of the few other jurisdictions in the United jurisdictions that has legalized online gambling to this day. In August of the previous year, Evolution Gaming established its first studio in the United States in Atlantic City, which is located in the state of New Jersey. As was the case in Pennsylvania, EG was the first live provider to be granted a license to conduct business in the state of New Jersey.

Footprint on the North American Continent

Evolution Gaming has every intention of capitalizing on this unrealized potential as the regulated market continues to open up in the United States and farther up into the continent of North America.

Indeed, according to James Stern, EG’s Chief Business Development Officer for American and Land-Based Operations, the company has observed extraordinary demand for live casino goods in the United States. Stern disclosed that the planned freestanding studio in Pennsylvania will serve as the base of operations for Evolution Gaming’s activities in the United States, including both online and land-based gambling.

EG simultaneously announced intentions to increase the capacity of its existing studio in Atlantic City by a factor of two, with the intention of luring a greater number of US licensees as customers. Stern refers to these games as “award-winning crowd pleasers,” and they would then be added to the game portfolios of these operators, who would then establish specialized tables and areas for the expansion of their game selections. During the same time period, EG partner online gambling brand 888recently revamped its website, while the operator continues to expand its land-based activities via partnerships with a variety of Atlantic City venues including the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City, Ocean Casino Resort, and Resorts Casino Hotel.

This comes on top of Evolution Gaming’s specialized live casino for Canadian players, which opened in 2018 in Vancouver.
